pbeard What a lovely album. Precisely crafted songs sung and played live with real soul. I love the way it's recorded, beautifully produced and engineered. Perfect! *mwhah*

To Be Easy 04:17
I've been on the outside looking in Waiting on an opening through which I might begin I gotta quit this waiting All this waiting is a sin But still I'm on the outside looking in I just want a way to be easy Just give me a way to be I just want a way to be easy It seems to me that some folk write the rules And leave them somewhere to be seen by all the other fools But my words never stick, you know They're bouncing off the walls So, I'm in line behind the other fools Still waiting on the right to my point of view Trying to find an easy way but I'm not getting through See, I ain't not Messiah, no But credit where it's due There's something here It's my own point of view But still I'm on the outside looking in Trying to rise above the racket, but I'm drowning in the din See, I just wanna take a turn You know, I'm not tryna win Just stuck here on the outside looking in I just want a way to be easy Just give me a way to be I've been the king, I've been the clown I reckon that I wanna be me I've raised the bar, and bought it down I reckon that I'd rather be me I've been the hero, been the fool I reckon that I wanna be me If it's unconventional, well; fuck the rules I'm tired, and I'm tryna be me

Ain't It Sad 03:38
Of course, I understand the silence on the airwaves The last time we spoke it was strange I guess I didn't realise your reassuring presence Was a constant I relied on not to change I dare say you're only doing me a favour And giving me the space I might require Now I guess I know quite how crucial it was To be somebody you admire Ain't it sad? You'd said that you'd call me when you could But you did not And I got this funny feeling that you won't I thought in a day or two you'd remember you forgot And you might call me then But you did not Ain't it sad? What good can it do to linger on? I guess I'm just a little sore It was me you once relied upon It's pretty clear that you don't need me anymore Ain't it sad?

Now You Know 04:23
Got to learn how to let go If something's been holding you back There's a few things you might like to know You can't keep on dragging your heels along Why stick around? Everything's moving on What do you stand to gain From watching as it goes and hoping that it might remain? It won't, and you don't always get your way Don't stick around Try another day Got to get out of your head Put your demons to bed Don't give in an inch to shadows of the mind Look to the light See what you find Got to learn how to let go If something's been holding you back Well, now you know So go out and tend to your field Don't let yesterdays sorrow blow what tomorrow may yield

Keep your distance Stay away from me I ain't yet the man I might appear to be So, to keep me from disgrace Help to hide my dirty face Keep your distance; stay away I've been out of touch And in denial Thinking I had it all worked out all the while I might have got my act together But that just ain't my style Keep your distance; run a mile I been nursing some old misery of mine Constructing this delusion by my own design I was riding high And so for the decline Keep your distance; give it time Been seeking some alternative to truth With the kind of mindless arrogance One carries through their youth Still so much to prove Still so little proof Keep your distance; stay away I guess you don't know you been sleeping 'til you wake Can't perceive the dawn until it breaks Keep your distance; stay away from me I'm not the man I might appear to be But, at least I know my place Don't give me any grace Just keep your distance; stay away

Four Seasons 04:35
The birds keep singing like it's Spring I heard there's snow still to come Blossom emerging on branches When February's barely begun We still like to think of Four Seasons For every lap round the sun But recently I've lost my bearing It's like four seasons blurring to one I feel an uncertainty stirring A dis-ease beginning to grow Anomalies continue recurring The cracks are beginning to show This is just wind on the water There's something greater below The ripples you see at the surface Are a sign of some great undertow Hear that wind howl Hear it's mournful lament The crash of the rain coming down The dam is just about holding I wonder how long it can last Calling all hands to bail out The water is rising and fast There's a dark shadow on the horizon Or so says the man up the mast And I've got feeling Four Seasons May soon be a thing of the past
