lyrics

As a boy I always knew
Not that I ever knew why
Something would bring me back here again
If ever I chose to fly

As a younger man I soon understood
That someday I'd be on my way
But even then I knew, somehow
I'd be back around someday

For home is wherever the heart is
And so mine remains

In time, I felt the wind rise
As it blew for the East from the West
Glad to be going I climbed on the breeze
With barely an ache in my chest

So the years flew & I seldom returned
But did so whenever I could
Turning to leave, I'd long for the day
That I might return for good

For home is wherever the heart is
And so mine remains

So as the man that I must be now
With the wisdom of just a few years
It's funny, I think of such innocence now
How it fades as maturity nears

And it's only now that I realise
How might I ever have known?
That someday this tree will keel over
And I'll have to find my own

Somewhere to call home

I know
Someday, now, I
I know
Someday; now I know
